It allows you to build a new MIP series according to the MIP options. If the images are calibrated and contains the 3D position, the thickness is also displayed in millimeters. Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP) The MIP viewer is a simple 3D viewer that allows to display the maximum intensity projection of a volume defined by a number of slice of the image stack. ![]() The Image Extension value represents the number of slices to use for the MIP calculation. The Image value represents the position in the series stack. The slice position is used to move around the series to apply the projection and display the result. Max: Maximum Intensity Projection (the default value). The projection type defines the way the MIP is calculated. This change in geometry means that overlay graphics are no longer displayed. Or is there some difference between M1 and M2? They're the same ARM architecture, they're supposed to work the same, just faster, right? It's not like I'm trying to do heavy rendering for Pixar or EA, you know? It's just DICOM image viewing, any intel i3 does it easily. In MIP mode, the volume is displayed as a 2D projection of the maximum intensity along the perpendicular axis of the image plane. Same issues.ĭoes anyone know what could be happening? Has anyone else had this same problem? I know it's a long shot, 'cause they're kind of specific apps for radiology. IMAIOS Dicom Viewer (IDV) is a free online dicom viewer browsing your medical images from computer, cd or dvd, and delivering lightning-fast 2D rendering previews highly optimized for any desktop device. Last thing I tried was formatting it and let the IT guys work their magic through AnyDesk remote access. Our DICOM Viewer is not for medical usage: IDV is not a medical device and is not CE or FDA approved. In our opinion, pseudo-coloring and annotations are yet more important than mobile device support. However, we recommended Weasis as optimal viewer for this use case. There's no contact information for free support from the websites of Horos and Weasis, just FAQs and forums, which had no information about this issue. Almost 370 free DICOM software projects are currently listed in the I Do Imaging. I downloaded the correct Horos version for Apple processors from the beginning, no luck either. They have no clue of what might be happening.Īnimati runs on x84 architecture, so I did already install Rosetta 2 and whatever Java stuff it prompted me. ![]() Tried setting up a VPN and properly managed to query images directly to the app, but keeps freezing and stops responding.Īlready asked several times for IT support from both my company and the software designers from this third party Weasis based software (called Animati). Then I heard I could use Horos for free, same problem. just larger batches of DICOM, such as 3D T1 post contrast. Does not happen to CT images, nor spine MRI. But whenever I try to load brain MR images, it freezes and stops responding. ![]() My colleagues always got it working on their macs, a few have used both M1 minis and M2 MBA. It is a very popular clinical viewer used in healthcare by hospitals, health networks, multicenter research trials, and patients. I work with radiology and use a Weasis based software from my company on Windows, I suppose it's Java, but not sure. Weasis is a multipurpose standalone and web-based DICOM viewer with a highly modular architecture. New MacOS user, got my M2 Mac Mini 16 Gb around a month ago, and I don't intend on going back to windows.
